A Wise Choice

Why is chiropractic such a great career?

  • Chiropractors make a very good living. According to Chiropractic Economics 9th annual Salary and Expense survey, the mean average salary was $96,772, and median income was in the range of $75,000 to $89,900.
  • It’s a fast-growing field. According to Fast Company magazine, chiropractic is ranked No. 5 of top jobs of next five years.
  • Chiropractic is holistic and natural. Many people are turning to natural, holistic health care alternatives.
  • It’s becoming more recognized by insurance.
  • Maybe most of all, it’s rewarding. Many chiropractors discuss “miracle” stories that have changed lives, and many more experience daily the impact of their care on patients.
Update

In this story, we mentioned that chiropractors were eligible for relief on student loans for providing care for underserved populations. The program providing this relief was the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) chiropractic student loan repayment demonstration (See http://www.acatoday.com/content_css.cfm?CID=680). Unfortunately, this program, which began as a pilot program in 2002, is currently closed to new applicants. We will keep you advised if this program or others similar to it become available.
